Regulating CBD – Understanding Today’s Regulatory Environment and Preparing for the Future
We will explore the basic history of cannabis regulation in the US on the federal and state levels and how the cannabis industry has generally been affected. Next, we will consider the use of CBD in dietary supplements and food products and what we know now about how the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates the addition of CBD into these products and how the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) enforces misleading claims. Finally, we will evaluate what the regulatory environment might look like in the future.
